Are hand inspectors / bots decrypting network streams?
I started to do some research into how bots and hand inspectors work, in an attempt to write one for myself (mostly just practice coding over the summer). And I noticed that all of the traffic between us and the server is encrypted. Are these programs cracking this encryption? Or are they working strictly with the GUI elements?

They use the patented pattern mapper software that is advertised all over the net and in the Wall Street Journal.
Either that, or they use the hand histories stored in a text file on your computer. |

Probably just the GUI elements, that's why they don't work when the table is blocked.

Is there anything else this forum can help you with to help you create your bot? You know how much we all love and support bot programmers!

Most clients write a hand history file to disk in real time. Check in the programs folder.

Well if you're going to do screen scraping change your card images to all white background and one colored pixel representing suit and then 1-13 black pixels representing rank.

I would spend my summer trying to decode the packets going to/from party.

1-13 black pixels representing rank. [/ QUOTE ] I think 4 pixels would be more than adequate. The bigger problem is writing a character-recognition program to defeat the bot-blocking pop-ups. Good luck with that. |
