Haven't posted a hand here for a while. I have a question about whether it was a good idea to wait for a safe turn card to raise here. And what to do since I didn't get it. Oh and feel free to comment on any other part of the hand as well.
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 max, 9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. [ QUOTE ] I have a question about whether it was a good idea to wait for a safe turn card to raise here. [/ QUOTE ] No [/ QUOTE ] agreed waiting for the turn is highly misused - raise this flop for value - anyone drawing to a flush is going to pay any price - make them pay it p.s. anyone else that's drawing (not a flush) is drawing pretty much dead |

Safe cards? That principle doesn't really apply here...
Flushes have odds to call anyway, even for two cold on the turn, so waiting is pointless. Raise NOW for value. Take the money NOW, from the weaker hands. Any flush draws are with you till the end, your objective is to make the weaker hands (pocket pairs, anyone with a 5, etc) pay while you have the chance, on the flop (and yes, the flushes are also paying, since you have an equity edge against them, though unlike weaker hands they have correct odds to draw). |

Krishan roasted me (well, not really but rightly) for not betting out a monster on the flop. Are you waiting for the muckers to get their cards back, or for SB or MP3 to get his flush. They'll pay you to try. The equity is all yours now.

Raise the flop. Besides equity, you're also more likely to get extra bets from people on the flop than on the turn.

I would folp this pf. But you really should raise the flop! Flush draws are going to call anyway so get the money in the pot! If flush comes on turn, you still have plenty of outs to a full or better

anyone fold this pf? [/ QUOTE ] You can fold it, but you can also play it. Playing it is more fun and a little more profitable if you are decent postflop. |
