Interesting TT hand, 2 tables left
Down to 16 players ($5 multi), final table gets paid - im the shortstack and get TT in the small blind, time to make a move, but how should i play it ?
I have $1425 before posting in the sb. Blinds 200-400 and 50 ante. FOUR people limp - do i now just call and push any flop OR do i push my 1175 in and hope at least 2 limpers fold reducing the number of overcards i have to dodge? I agree easy push, what you gonna do if you limp and the flop comes with two overs, you won't have a clue where your at.

Re: Interesting TT hand, 2 tables left
knowing where im at doesn't matter, i will push ANY flop.
The point being, when i complete the pot is 2700, and i have 1175 left. If i push this preflop, its 1175 for the limpers to call into a 3875 pot, thats some nice odds. Now lets assume the 4 limpers have typical $5 multi hands for limping, that would be like A9s, KQo, JQs, 33 - do you see these folding preflop? The $1000 doesn't cripple any of them, and if they have a hand they will put in 400, no doubt they will call off 1000 more. Then i have a flop, turn and river to dodge LOTS of bullets while they presumably check it down until someone hits. IF on the otherhand i just limp, and push ANY flop - hands which caught something and now are ahead will call me obviously (BUT they probably call me if i push preflop) but hands that are behind me, and might catch on the turn, river or make some runner runner straight/flush may fold when they miss the flop. So hands that are ahead preflop/on the flop will beat me regardless of when i push, i can't see them folding preflop, but hands that beat me on turn/river might not be in the hand if i push the flop. If anyone has a good reason for pushing the flop, id like to know. I actually did push the flop in this hand, thinking i might force out a few limpers. Naturally they all called, flop came 227 and A7 bet out and i won the pot. However im still thinking pushing post flop might be best. Thoughts? |

Re: Interesting TT hand, 2 tables left
Ok, having been to the shops i had a further think about this hand.
If we assume pushing preflop we get called by all 4 limpers, the pot will be about 8000. I then have to have tens win vs 4 random hands, BUT if i win, im a very nice sized stack (2nd on the table). However if i push postflop, at best i figure im only going to win vs one caller (if more than one calls, im almost certainly behind, but one person could call with a worse hand). This would put me at 5000. The question is (and i cant see the best choice) do i want to play vs 4 limpers for a chance to win 8000, or do i push postflop to win 4000. How often will TT hold up in the first example to make this profitable? |

Re: Interesting TT hand, 2 tables left
If you push any flop the only action you are going to get has you as a big big dog (unless you do hit the set). Push preflop and let the QJ or KT or weak ace decide then and there to go or not.

[/ QUOTE ] im 90% sure they do call preflop. Do i want these hands seeing 5 cards, or can i risk letting them see 3 and then pushing? Still not convinced here |
