Re: How did you start playing online poker?
I played Backgammon first. A friend told me that it was easy to make money with Poker. I give it a shot and find out that he was right.

Re: How did you start playing online poker?
You know, that's a damn good question. It's going to keep me up.
I alternately ignored, mocked, and cursed at all the gimmicks some of the sleazier sites and affliates used to try to trick you into downloading and registering. felt I was 'too smart' to fall for that. Now I wish this had been around when I was paying off my student loans (Though an occasional visit to Foxwoods contributed greatly to clearing those loans ahead of schedule, it was far more inconvenient and nerve-wracking) Dang, how *did* I get started? |

Re: How did you start playing online poker?
I was addicted to live tournaments, but the buy-ins were high and I wasn't good enough to place in the top 3. Plus, Casino Arizona makes you play 3 hours in a limit game in order to start with the maximum amount of chips in the tournament. I also hated waiting for days for the next tournament to start. Those bad beats would be on my mind the whole time.
In one of the tournaments, some 18 year old kid mentioned that they had online tournaments for low buy-ins He said that they started at least every hour or so. I got hooked on $5 and $10 Ultimate Bet tournaments. |

Re: How did you start playing online poker?
Watching WPT with wife about 2 years ago. She said "You've always enjoyed playing poker, why don't you try that?"
The next commercial that came on was for PokerStars. The rest is history. Doc |

Re: How did you start playing online poker?
I always enjoyed poker, from the time I learned how to play at a very young age. I started playing 7CS in the casino because I could sit there all day and play as opposed to roulette or slots where the money went fast. I liked it a lot, so I decided to try playing online. I was nervous about putting my money online, So I Paypal-ed (x.com-ed) $50 over to the biggest and safest site on the net.... PlanetPoker.com
....Gee how things have changed |
