Default Re: Do you fold this AQo for 2 bets preflop?

Based on the tightness of this table (if this is typical of play on this table), I would fold. I might consider calling if we had attracted some cold callers, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

CO can have a wide(r) range.

If CO's PFR range was maybe 10-15, maybe I could understand.

But through 30 hands his PFR was ~5.

Good fold.

Against raisers who are not position aware, I think you can fold AQo here. But I might 3bet here. I certainly wouldn't cold-call.

3 bet. you have position. maybe force the blinds and limper out. see if he caps or calls. you have a solid hand and position so there is no way you should fold.

So many people want to fold this hand... That's really strange.

If UTG had raised, then I'm on board with a fold against an unknown. But since UTG limps and it's folded to the cutoff, I would need a very good reason to fold this hand. And 35 hands does not make a good reason, even if he hasn't played a single one of them!

This should be a fairly easy 3-bet. AQo, even though it's not suited, is still a premium holding at the microlimits against a late position raise.

I'm asking under what circumstances should I be folding here.

[/ QUOTE ]

when you know to a near-certainty that villain ONLY raises QQ, AA & KK. i'm positive i've had stats in Villain's range before and i'm raising 66 or 77 there.

edit: as villain, i'm also raising AJo there...

Folding AQo on the button to a CO open raise is terrible.

The first time I read this thread was yesterday and I thought it was a hypothetical situation used to teach newbies to not fold there.

Thank you for your astoundingly broad observation...

No, I had AQo and I folded. But I thought maybe I should have 3-bet

Lesson learned.

It might be correct if you know villian knows nothing about position and his PFR is <=2 after a large sample of hands. But then it would probably be close, since you have position and this type of player probably plays very poorly postflop.
