Maybe I'll check those out then.
I looked up Full Metal Alchemist, the recommendation by Jack of Arcades up there, and the customer reviews on Netflix are pretty ecstatic. So I put that in my queue. I'll check out your recommendations for my Netflix queue tomorrow. |

I forgot to mention Neon Genesis Evangelion, Blood: the Last Vampire, X, and Street Fighter Alpha. Fist of the Northstar and Astroboy were good back in the day. I can't think of any others that are decent, mostly because I haven't seen too many, but also because the truth is most anime isn't very good, just like most of everything isn't very good. Once you get by Gundam, Miyazaki, and Cowboy Bebop, most of it is pretty shoddy.

I liked Cowboy Bebop, but the series called Noir(Nowâru) has been the favorite thing I've seen so far. Every episode builds upon the last rather than having a series with a few big major episodes and the remaining episodes being fine but not haveing all that much overall importance to the series.
here's the summary from Netflix: In this anime adventure, Mireille is a professional assassin who's contacted one day by a young woman claiming to be an amnesiac named Yumura. Drawn in by Yumura's story, Mireille discovers that Yumura possesses the skills of an assassin and may be able to unlock some of the secrets of Mireille's past. Soon, it becomes clear that both women are the focus of a deadly conspiracy that will call upon all their skills to stay alive. Enjoy, Allan |

At least it didn't drag on as long as .hack//Sign. Goddamn that was a piece of [censored]. |

Cowboy Bebop is by far the best anime to introduce the form to non-anime types, IMO.
(Series) Cowboy Bebop (must see) Samurai Champloo Trigun (Movies) Grave of the Fireflies (must see) Ghost in the Shell (the sequel is beautiful visually but kind of sucks as a film, IMO) all Miyazaki |
