Re: 70 left. still hangin
I was the CO in that hand, I specifically waited to push on his BB because he was the only person I thought would have remote chance of folding. I do not think his fold was as bad as you guys think, I will elaborate later.

Re: 70 left. still hangin
I didn't have much to work with, I think I had 1 successful blind steal the whole tourney...anyways for the hand where you are in BB. Everyone was screamin you have odds to call blah blah blah. 11k more to call when you have a stack of what was it 40 k? If you call and lose which odds are you will with 32o your stack is now small enough that it will be very difficult to steal blinds form any other stack at that table. Where if you save the 11k it could get a big stack to fold to an all in blind steal later that orbit. Anyways poker is not always numbers guys you gotta remember that! I am not saying I would have folded but it is not as clear cut as u guys made it out to be gl to you I hope you finish second....my good buddy is still alive.

Re: 70 left. still hangin
Interestingly, when I talked to Howard Ledderer on Full Tilt about this very subject, he assured me that you should always follow the pot odds, and it IS in fact always about the numbers; even if the extra chips you save by not calling means being able to steal blinds. I presented him with this situation:
You are stealing many blinds because you're at a fairly easy table, and then on one hand you steal from the button with 97o and get played back at by the BB, putting you all in, you are getting 3.5:1 odds on a call what do you do? He says it's an easy call. I agree with you but just relaying what Howard thinks on the subject, and I wonder what guru's think about this. EDIT: just to be clear, he felt very strongly about this |
