Default Turn decision

BB is loose and tricky. I've seen him bluff a scary turn after the flop was checked around, but give up on the river. I folded because the pot was so small, but thought it might've been worth calling since I could fold the river with a clear conscience. For the sake of the argument, assume the SB will always fold.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, MP calls, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (2.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG folds, MP folds, Hero . . .

Fold. It's a small pot, not worth it IMO.

I fold.

I would be worried about villain having an 8 more than a T.

Pot is small.

If you're certain he'll check through a bluff on the river, then a call on this turn wouldn't be half bad. That'd have to be a pretty strong read though. More often than not if I wanted to take a stab at this pot I raise the turn and hope to see a free showdown. That way you get some folding equtiy, it charges any draw or 6 outer he has, and allows you to get to the showdown for the same cost.

throw one out there on the flop, and consider if throwing 2 out preflop might be worthwhile in certain spots

Betting this flop would be a total waste, can someone tell me what you guys expect to achieve?

I agree. Unless you're fantastically lucky, the T 8 6 flop has given everyone either a pair, a straight draw, or overcards, not to mention the possibility of flush draws and/or stronger made hands. The 55 has very little equity in the pot and no chance of taking it uncontested. I would not bet this flop.

Guy.
