KEM cards question

How do the "casino" kems compare to the others (Arrow, Paisley, etc . . .). Probably a dumb question, but I've never seen or played with kems that have a casino design on the back. Just curious.

kems are the expensive ones right?

a kem deck will run about $15. they are good decks. they last a very long time. the casinos use kem decks for months/years. decks that you can buy for a few bucks will last you a little while, but will bend and mark. kem decks are worth the investment.

There is no difference in the Kems used in casinos and those sold to consumers. They are hard to come by in poker size now though (somewhere areound $70 on eBay). There are numerous backs see http://www.kem.com/

There are "Casino Club" Kems which are made of vinyl and not 100% Acetate as the regular Kems are. Is this what the OP is asking about?

You can get Poker Size Kems for far less than $70......

I don't believe any KEM cards are made of vinyl. The casino cards seem just like my "special" backed ones, but they come out in cardboard setups instead of the nice plastic ones.

According to Joe @ cardsbycopag the "California club" Kems are a vinyl card.I only know this because I bought quite a few for our tourneys and Joe stressed this point before he sold them to me.They do have more of a matt finish than regular Kems but are still very good cards.

Look here, in rows 5 and 6. The last deck in row 5 and the first two decks in row 6. The cards are from Hollywood Park Casino, Hollywood Racing Casino, and Mohegan Sun Casion.

I didn't know there were vinyl KEMs. Are those the "casino" back in red, blue, brown and green? I've never shuffled or pitched those, just squeezed them.

I dealt a set of Copags tonight and they are a great holdem card. They pitch perfectly, don't slide much when you drop the stub on the table and hardly defllect (bend permanently). I think copags are vinyl, correct me if I'm wrong please.

I also played with a set of DalNegros. They are a perfect cribbage or gin card as they feel almost like brand new Paulson cards and seem like they will stay that way for quite awhile. They would be best in games where you're holding a largeish hand. They felt like they would bend permanently and the "joker test" confirmed this.

Which Copags did you use? I've heard that the "signature elites" are the best and are different than other Copags. Those are the one's with the name "Copag" on the back.
