How\'s my line - did I miss a bet here?
20-40 live, down to 6 handed, UTG is somewhat loose/very aggressive and quite tricky, UTG+1 is similar although his post flop play is very good - both players have correctly increased their aggression now that we are down to 6 handed (playing maybe 30 minutes with 6) - my table image is very tight (tighter than normal as I have seen NO cards for 2.5 hours).....
UTG Raises, UTG +1 reraises, fold, Hero on button with 99 caps the betting, both blinds fold, original raisers call. Flop 6,8,5 rainbow check, check, I bet UTG calls, UTG+1 folds Turn 10 completing the rainbow UTG checks, I check behind (thinking I should have bet out here, however I am having a hard time putting UTG on a hand, did not want to bet and b cr'd as I still had outs with a 7 for the str8 - also potentially inducing a river bluff) River - 3 UTG bets, I call (should I have raised this?, thinking maybe) MHIG - UTG shows 77 How badly did I play this?, should I have bet the turn?, should I have raised the river? All thoughts are appreciated.... |

Re: How\'s my line - did I miss a bet here?
I don't think you played it terribly against a tricky/aggressive opponent, but yes, I would bet the turn. and I would most definitely bet the turn against a more passive player.
I don't want to give a free river to overcards. If he is still around on the river, you can make a judgement call as to taking a free showdown or value betting. Raising the river does not make sense to me. Since you are calling the river, I think you should just bet the turn, if checkraised on the turn you will have to call with a potential 6 outer, then you'll have a tough decision if he fires again on the river. Knowing your opponent there helps too, if he will never follow through without the goods, then you can probably fold. I would probably make a crying call heads up against a tricky player. |

Re: How\'s my line - did I miss a bet here?
it depends. probably call down. I have seen this type of player c/r bluff the turn before and if I get that impression I will 3 bet if he is super laggy.

Re: How\'s my line - did I miss a bet here?
That was what I was trying to avoid, a cr on the turn, since this guy is pretty tricky I could easily put him on a hand that beat mine - I would have hated a CR on the turn and likley had to call the cr (with 6 outs) and then make a tough call on the river.....
