If UTG won't bluff raise or semi bluff raise the turn, I think you can safely fold to the stopngo on the turn.

it was only 2nd orbit of the table, so he was pretty unknown, I guessed he was semi-bluffing with overcards as he called from UTG, and play was based on that

HU i think you're fine. a read would help whether UTG would raise on a flush draw. i'm not sure about the river. for info, i might call, but folding would be okay too since the flush did come in plus an A so i doubt you're ahead.

The pot is small. True, half of it you've invested, and being heads-up half of it is your fair share. But with no dead money going into the pot, its not getting any bigger. You have a weak vulnerable hand and an opponent who likes his a lot. An opponent who thought you were bluffing and had a weak made hand himself would more likely either just call down or pop you on the river. An opponent who wanted to feel you out more likely would have raised you on the flop. It's going to cost you two more big bets to get to a showdown, more than you've already invested. I think its safe to lay this down and save the two bets for another hand. If he was bluffing, well good for him - let him feel good about himself and then nail him when you have a stronger hand.

Noone would bag you for check calling the river but I think there'd be a few ppl screaming weak tight if you folded it.

Too late to edit, but my post above was specifically commenting on the turn action. I didn't make that at all clear in my post.

Weak Tight? So, saving bets is now considered weak tight? The villian raises the turn which means he could have the flush draw, overcards, actually he could even have top pair with better than a 7 kicker. I don't think folding is bad at all here. Call me weak tight.

one of the considerations here is that he limped UTG, so he is more likely to have a ten with a better kicker than if you were SB and he was BB. Some aggressive players will do that call the flop-raise the turn thing from the BB every time after a blind steal, just because they know you will release a lot after you miss. against those guys in that situation, you have to call down. in a blind on blind battle against a very aggressive player, I call this down.

against this .5/1 typical passive dude, I'll give him credit in this fairly small pot and just fold.
