I had considered other sets and bought the DS as a "value bet". I spiked top set. Nothing comes close for the price. For the undecided, gobble them up.

I am such a chip whore.

I just ordered 900 of the Desert Sands chips...well 600 and i get the 300 free. This set is tailored to the weekly ring games we play.

I also am ordering 750 at least of Ten's custom Paulson chips..

I also have 500 custom chips on order with pokerchips.com, though they are more for my wife then myself. Haven't even gotten the first art proof on em yet, and it's been 4 weeks.

The paulson's will increase in value as soon as the're shipped. You could turn a profit on ebay with the 3x300 sets as soon as the sale ends. With NJ.net running all these sales it indicates to me they need to improve thier bottom line. They may not be a business in two years. More collectors items.

You could always tell her, "Hey, at least I don't like old cars... those have to sit in the yard!"

Are these chips similar in material/quality to paulsons?

I'm seriously considering grabbing a few sets.... but I just wanted to be sure they're top-grade clay chips before ordering....

they are ceramic, like chipcos.

Really? they look more like a clay chip with the edgespots...

Or are those just printed onto the flat surface?

I'm not a big fan of how quick chipcos wear or the smooth feel of them. the local Gold Strike uses them and I'd much prefer a clay-type chip. Can anyone confirm that these are the smooth-faced chipco style with printed edge spots?
