Bet, Raise, 3-Bet, Fold?
Foxwoods $20-$40, Wednesday night
Same session as hand posted earlier, this one actually happened before that one. MP (weakish player) limps, I raise on the button with ATo. BB (decent player) and limper call. Flop: 279 rainbow. BB bets, limper and I both call. Turn: T completing rainbow. BB bets, limper folds, I raise, BB 3-bets, I fold. Any comments appreciated. - Jags |

Re: Bet, Raise, 3-Bet, Fold?
im not sure why youre calling this flop bet when you have no clue what your outs are and the pot is only 8 SB. and when considering the better was at least a decent player and was leading out into two people, one of which was the preflop raiser, i think its an instant fold. if you smelled something fishy or sensed weakness, that was the time to come out swinging with some raises.
and the fold to the 3bet was good. (which illustrates why the folding the flop was so important... cause you ending up making a hand on the turn, invested 2 BBs, got raised, had no clue where you where at, and had to fold) my opinions at least and how much harder is the typical fox 20/40 game when compared to the 10/20? thanks |

Re: Bet, Raise, 3-Bet, Fold?
This is an interesting point of view. To be honest, folding the flop hadn't really crossed my mind, sometimes I raise here and sometimes I call, depending on the feel of the hand. The player, although decent, had bet gutshots and the like into preflop raisers, so I didn't give his bet too much credit. I could argue for raising and calling in this spot, but not so much for folding, personally.
In my experience, the $20 game is typically better than the $10 game, believe it or not, but I'm only out there once a week at most. Thanks for the input - Jags |

FWIW, the BB and I had been friendly, and after I mucked he showed me T7 for two pair. - Jags |
