Default Rate this Play

NL 10 Person Satellite. 6 players left. 2000 Chips left. (Slight;y below avg) 15 minute rds.

Blinds are 50/100. I am on the cutoff, I have JJ. I raise 3X BB. Everyone folds, BB moves in with 1900 worth of chips. He has made this play before with two blackjack hands, AJ and AK. I think about it a bit and I am fairly certain that I am looking at overcards.

I mucked.. Tight weak play??

In retrospect, this being a satellite where the structure is fast I probably should have called.

Opinions?

p.s. He had AQ.

Weak-tight, Tight-weak, anyway you put it, that describes your play. Not because you mucked pocket jacks, but because you had read the player perfectly, but failed to act on the information, probably out of fear of busting out. Newsflash---this will happen in almost every no-limit tournament you play in at some point(where you have to make a decision to put all your chips in based on available info.) Trust your instincts and act on them. Good Luck!

I think you made the correct play. Wait for a better situation. You may have had the best hand, but you still had plenty of time to make a move when you were an ever bigger favorite.
