Considering that this was the one person at the table who could knock you out, I would have played more aggressivly with my pre flop re-raise to push him off his hand. With the small re-raise you made him think exactly what you wanted him to, that you were not in love with your hand, and his all in move with 22 was to take the pot, not get called. You got very unlucky, but you put yourself in the position where one flop of the cards was for the whole thing. I think you could have avoided the situation, and if possible, I believe it is your best interest do do so, no matter the strength of your hand with the flop yet to come, but once you were in the position to call or fold, you made the correct play.
Keep in mind however, that if his read was that you were weak, as you wished, he made a strong, aggressive play as well. |
