Three questions about books
Hi everyone. Three questions:
1 - Is "Harrington on Hold 'em, Expert Strategy for No Limit Tournaments; Volume I: Strategic Play" published by 2+2? 2 - Is there a book which includes the essays (formerly posted at this site): "Why Hold 'em Players Lose at Stud" & "Why Stud Players Lose at Hold 'em" 3 - Which of the two books "Gambling Theory and Other Topics" or "Gambling for a Living" would be the best option to introduce a poker player (me) to the wide world of sports betting and proggressive slots? Obviously, I welcome opinions. Thank you all for any help. |

Re: Three questions about books
1: Yes
2: Poker Essays, Volume III by Mason Malmuth 3: Gambling for a Living. Though all info on progressive slots is outdated and noted as outdated. The video slot machines used in almost all progressive slots these days make it impossible to figure out when it's +EV to play the machine. I'm pretty sure there are better books for novice sportsbettors out there, but I can't recommend any as all forms of sport bores me to tears. |

Re: Three questions about books
Thanks Rudbaeck.
Good news about question 1. I trust 2+2 more than any other publishers. Bad news about progressive slots. Apparently progressive video poker is still highly beatable. Do you know of any good resources (books or websites)dealing specifically with progressive machines? Thanks again. |

Re: Three questions about books
Nope, I don't have the stomach to grind out the progressives. Poker is fun, and a good game is always available.

Re: Three questions about books
there are some software programs avilible most notably frugal Video poker and win poker 6 that will give you the stuff you need to beat the prog VP games in Miss and NV.
I would suggest "getting the best of it" for ? # 3 |
