Buying airline tickets online
I know there are a zillion travel agency type sites on the internet now, but I've never used any of them. I need to buy some airline tickets. No hotel or anything, just tickets. What's the best site for me to use?

Re: Buying airline tickets online
Cheaptickets.com is pretty good.
If you are looking for last minute tickets cheap and don't mind nonrefundable (in fact all of these sites might be non refundable) try hotwire.com. Orbitz.com is also good. I have used all three with good success. If you know where you want to go and what airline flies there you might want to just check the price directly from the site. Jetblue.com will give you good deals as an example, and I believe (but am not sure) Southwest.com does the same. Make sure you use all three of Orbitz, cheaptickets and hotwire if you are price conscious as they will not all quote the same price. |

Re: Buying airline tickets online
I always use orbitz.com
Also try southwest airlines website, as their flights are not listed on any of the websites like orbitz and travelocity and stuff. They also have really good deals. |

I use expedia, sometimes I go on sidestep.com just to see rates.

I used both travelocity and expedis and have not had a problem. My sister always uses priceline but since I usually travel with my kids I cannot cahnce the travel time a layovers that priceline might give you.

Re: Buying airline tickets online
I used skyauction.com to buy round trip tickets from Dayton, OH to Seoul Korea for about $200 cheaper than I could find anywhere else. Haven't used the site since so I don't know if that was a fluke or if similar deals can be found on stateside travel, but it worked out for me.

Unless I need to travel at the last minute, I just go to the airlines' sites

[/ QUOTE ] For domestic tickets, try a bunch of sites and see which is cheapest: 1travel.com, travel.yahoo.com, expedia, travelocity, or try buying directly from southwest, jetblue, or independence air. International tickets are usually MORE expensive online than from a good B&M agent. |
