Giving away the store (30/60)
Villian is 22/17, all 6-max hands, so basic TAG on the tight side preflop. Postflop I have him labeled as safe, doesn't cause trouble. *But*, he is stuck, I am running good, and I have been stealing his blind a lot in this session, like more than half the time. So here is the hand:
5-handed I open on the button with K9o, BB (villian) calls. Flop is 479 rainbow. He checkraises, I 3bet, he caps. The pace was hot. Turn is an Ace of clubs making a 2-flush. He bets, I call. River is King of clubs (3rd one). He bets, I raise, he 3-bets, I fold. |

Re: Giving away the store (30/60)
Given your description of him this is a horrible, horrible fold IMO. Between the pot-odds you have and the information you get about what his hand is . . . ugh. Yeah, he probably has 2-pair with an ace, but more than 9 out of 10 times? Given his flop agg, sure, he might have a set or A9, but he also might have flopped a low two pair.

Re: Giving away the store (30/60)
doesn't seem like the right time to make a big fold at all. i think you're definitely good here 8% of the time.

What about the rest of the hand?
OK even I admit that the fold looks bad when reading it. I went back just now and looked, over 162 hands this guy has a 0.38AF on the river (1.14 overall). This particular site does not allow PT notes to be loaded but I was sure he was weak on big bet streets from my written notes. I guess you just had to be there, or really I should have stopped my post at "I raise" on the river.
I was most curious about the amount of action I gave with just 1 pair vs. such a player. Like, would folding the turn ever be right? Or taking it down a notch on the flop? And should I just call the river? |

Re: Giving away the store (30/60)
I think by the flop action this guy is never going to fold.. why not just call down unless you improve?
