Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
OK,
Just about to pull the trigger on a $600 budget for nice chips for my home game (6-8 players). Decided on all non-denomination, so variety of limit, nolimit, & tourneys can be supported. Four colors should do it: 280 White (most often $1) 160 Red (most often $5) 80 other color (value flexes with game) 80 other color (value flexes with game) ---- 600 Have ordered plenty of samples, and have narrowed choices to: 1) Custom ASM clays ($1 ea, several months to ship) http://www.pokerchips.com/custom.html Custom composite nevadajacks ($.95 ea, color lots need to be in 100 increments, offers chip design svcs for fee) http://www.nevadajacks.net/custom_poker_chips.htm Non-custom Archetypes ($1 ea, ship fast, could always resell) http://www.buypokerchips.com/clay-po...ips-2.htm#arch I would appreciate feedback on forum and through poll. Thanks! |

Re: Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
I have a set of ASM Home Poker Chips and love them. I still voted for NJ because the wait was just silly long.

Re: Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
Don't buy the Archetypes expecting to resell them down the road. Used (and even some new) Chipco's are only going in the .60-.70 range.

Re: Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
Paulsons are indeed nice, but don't see the non-denomination, and/or custom option. Buying sufficient chips for .25 - $25 value ranges would blow my $600 big time. The alternative would be to making change all the time, or using a chip for other than its marked value, neither of which sound good to me.
If I had just NL, or narrow range of limit games, then Paulsons would be at/near top of list. |

Re: Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
Go with the ASM's. I don't like Archetype much.
If you want to save a few bucks, checkout the group buy section on Chiptalk.net There are two TR King buys going on, one with edge spots, one w/o. Great chips! |

Re: Deciding on Chips, feedback wanted
I chose the Paulson's Pharaoh's over custom ASM's. They are available in non denom. My second choice would be ASM.
