Default Muckleshoot, 40/80 or higher?

I plan on being in the Tacoma area for business in late June.

I have played at the Muckleshoot a few times about 2 years ago and recall 10/20 holdem being their highest game.

I was wondering if they have started to spread higher games, e.g. 40/80 or more, since my last trip there.

How about pot limit or no limit holdem 5/10 or higher?

Thanks in advance for any info.

NO PL or NL in the state of washington except for a wierd NL capped buy in game played at the Tuallip(sp?) north of Seattle. It's a $200 max buy with 2 and 5 blinds and a max bet of $500. To sum up it's worthless.

The only regular mid limit game is 20/40 with 30/60 overs at the muck. The 30/60 (50/100 overs) goes Most nights except for Wednesdays. The 50/100(100/200 overs) goes every now and then and tends to run 5 to 6 handed.

Apparently the state of Washington regulates tables that could have a regular bet over $20. So you can count the number of tables licensed to spread more than 10/20 on 1 hand. 3 of them happen to be at the muck.

There are no $10 chips so we tend to play a nice green and red mixture which confuses the dealers. It's always nice to see them try and break green chips for the rake.

Default A few more questions...

As I stated in the original post, it has been two years since I last played at the Muckleshoot.

I was wondering if a few things changed since then:

1. The room was smoking then, is it still smoking?

2. The highest game they spread at that time was 10/20 holdem and the game was very tight. I play in LA, so I found these games to very boring and blind stealing contests. Are the games there still tight or have they loosened up a bit.
Also, are the higher limit games such as 20/40 and the 30/60 full of loose gamblers or full of tight pros/wannabes?

When the 50/100 goes, is it good or hit/miss?

Thanks in advance.

The weekday game is a rock garden. It loosens up quite a bit in late afternoon and into the evening. Especially on tourney nights. Mon, tues, thurs, along with the weekends.

Slavic has told me the 20-40 is much better overall.

The 10/20 is to tight for my likeing but it's passive and you can grind out a profit at it if you try.

The 20 and 30 games tend to play 3 to 4 to a flop for 2 bets. On tourney nights up that to 6 to a flop for 2 bets. I love tourney nights BTW.

In the past few months many new players are venturing in from the pits and they all want to play as high a limit as possible. I don't know why but they feel they get a good time in the 20 and 30 games and I'm glad to see 'em.

Yes the room is full of smokers however the regulars in the 20 and 30 normally smoke back from the table. It helps.

As to if it's better than Cali? No way no how. If the best poker players in the area want to play there is only one room that spreads the mids. I'm just glad most of them stay home.

The 50/100 is a hit or miss game when it runs. Some nights I look at it and it looks great others I wouldn't sit in it for anything. To this point I've sat in for exactly 1 session so trust me when I say I simply don't know how that game runs.

Me and a friend asked the Clearwater Casino if they would spread NL and the floor person said they were only a class 2 or something poker room and weren't allowed too (they also wont spread omaha, 7card, etc)....what do you mean that NO casinos in Washington are allowed to spread NL...is that a state rule...and WHY??

Also what does overs mean (100/200 overs)

one last thing...do you know the min. age for these casinos...the clearwater casino is 18...but i heard the muck, tulalip were 21...do you know which is which and why they are different since they are all indian casinos.

I can't speak about nowadays since I moved up north a couple years ago, but my friends and I played at the muck when we were 18, along with alot of the card rooms (that are now "casinos") in Tukwila. Weird though, the Skagit Valley Casino is 21+, not sure why? Maybe it has to do with their liquor licensing?

In Minnesota there is a state law that says the most that you can wager in one bet is $60. That's why the highest limit at Canterbury Park is 30-60 and there is no NL.

An overs button means that the limits of the game increase on the next round when only players playing overs are left in the hand. If everyone plays overs buttons then the game would be 100/200 with the first round playing 50/100.

I have not researched class 3 status too closely but in the state only a certain numbers of tables can be class 3 tables. So if you have 100 tables you may get 6 of those as "High Stakes" tables. In most of the large Casinos those tables go to the High Stakes area if they have one and not to the Poker room.

Washington state seems to have many gambling regulations designed to protect the public, to the best of what I see they in many cases unfairly harm the general public.

Muckleshoot and Tulalip are both 21+. However, many of the cardrooms (as opposed to full casinos) in Washington are 18+. I know that the Hideaway is, so I would assume that at least some of the other cardrooms in Shoreline are as well.
