stop me if you\'ve heard this before...party tournament problems
party had a problem requiring them to shut down all their $1.2 million tourney tables for "15 minutes". two minutes later, my table and many others are back up, but a handful remain stalled for over 30 minutes, giving their players a huge unfair advantage.
and the players at the stalled tables are complaining!!!! i should offer an intelligent player a chance to get into the money in a tournament with any stack size for free, and see how he reacts. anyone want to suggest some angry text for an email to party that might provide me with monetary compensation? their "resolution" to run some tables and not others is complete horseshit. |

[ QUOTE ]
and the players at the stalled tables are complaining!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Situation 1: You are a very good tournament player and are at one of the stalled tables. The tournament is stalled long enough for everyone at your table to make the money. It restarts right when you reach the money, and you have a 2000T stack with blinds at 1k/2k. First hand after the restart you are in the big blind, and are knocked out, winning $1,200 for 130th place. You are disappointed that you basically had 0 chance to win the tournament, but since you were almost guaranteed profit, you do not complain. Situation 2: Same as situation 1, except your table restarts with 140 players left, 10 away from the money. You lose your big blind all-in and are out in 140th. I think I would be complaining then. |

valid opinion, but the point that the ruling is totally unfair to certain players remains. party is really pushing it now.

Re: stop me if you\'ve heard this before...party tournament problems
i don't have any suggestions crock, but i am suprised that a 2,000 player field caused a problem. i thought they had fixed that bug and had run tourneys with more players than this with no problems.
as far as the paused players, i can't see why they are complaining. if i was very short, i would be very happy. if i was very flush, i would be very happy. if i had an average stack, i would be very happy. what is the nature of their complaints out of curiosity? are the medium stacks saying that they are dropping too far below average and will not be able to rebound once it is fixed? this is the only argument i could come up with. but if it were me on a short stack i would feel lucky. i pledge no pauses for toejam tomorrow, but can't offer $240,000.00 to first. although i will rebuy at a rate that makes it possible. |

Re: stop me if you\'ve heard this before...party tournament problems
basically, the complaints are that their chances of winning the $240k are somehow significantly lowered because of the stall. (complete crap, i know.)
tourney is 31 away from the money now. i'm almost rooting for a chop just so i won't have to deal with this anymore. |

super-short stacks that were about to be blinded off, and subsequently make it to the money due to a pause should be kissing themselves.

I find it astonishing, even for Party, that a tournament of this significance is [censored] up.
