Any Ace in NL - when does it become a good hand?
So when does Axo (Ace-low or any Ace..or however you want to look at it) become a playable hand.
4 handed? 5 handed? 3 handed or first in on the button, cutoff, SB? Thanks, spoods |

Re: when you stop playing cards & start playing poker.
I would say that online, it is much more difficult to make that kind of statement. You can get some sort of read on your opponents, but it is worth about 25-50% of what a good live read is on a player. Since, my exposure to NL is going to have to be online until my next vegas trip, or canterbury NL tourneys, I am wondering about a couple of general rules or thoughts.
I was thinking about this after hearing Howard Lederer comment on the showdown at the sands, and the commentary from the WPT whenever it is Blind v Blind and someone has an ace..... but thanks for the helpful post...i learned a lot. Spoody |

Spoody:
I can't think of a time that Axo is playable in NL except possibly if the entire table is calling the blinds on every hand and not raising, then A2-5 might be playable for the straight. Since it is so likely that someone is going to have a better kicker with the same chances of making 2 pair as you, it isn't playable, IMO. |

Re: Any Ace is playable in LATE POSITION AND HERES WHY
i play in a 1-2 nl game max300 buy-in....If im in LP I'll play ace with anything bc no limit is a game of bluffing and if no one raised and your on the button with A2 well I play it for the ability to bluff with position basically...

Re: Any Ace is playable in LATE POSITION AND HERES WHY
well, what you are actually saying is that any two cards are playable in late position, not just any ace. which may be true, if you play well enough. i doubt that is true for the majority of posters here though.
