Default Anyone slowplay this? Hand #2

15/30, a few calling stations, a couple of aggressives, mostly tight/predictable types.

It's folded to you on the button. You raise your tens. The SB plays back at you, the BB folds. You make it three bets, he makes it four, you make it five, he calls.

The flop is T74 with two spades. SB bets, you raise, he re-raises. Your move.

If you finished the raising preflop, you either made it 4 bets or 6, not 5. Anyways, call his 3-bet on the flop and raise his turn bet. He has AKs or 77, charge him the 2 big bets either way.

He 3-bets you pre-flop, you 4-bet.
He 5-bets you pre-flop, you 6-bet.

When were you planning on slowing down w/ your tens?

My opponent in the hand was really aggressive. He thought I was steal-raising, and I expected him to three-bet with any ace. His five-bet meant he had a strong ace or a pair.

I get the feeling that my fellow 2+2ers think I raise a bit too much preflop. (The other people at the table certainly seemed surprised.) I'm starting to think so, too. That's why I'm posting hands in which I may have gone too far.

I don't think you are missing anything. That being said, I think slowplaying after you make top set doesn't make much sense either. He most likely puts you on AA or KK, and if he has AA, he may smooth call your reraise and checkraise the turn. . . .

I have to put him on KK or AA now, so I'd reraise/raise it up.... of course praying no K or A shows.... Odds are heavily in your favor, chance that he has A and K of spades by chance? 1 in 10 maybe, based on his betting though AA/KK seems a lot more likely.

SO what happened? 8)

I don't think he has AA or KK. He just calls the 6th bet preflop then leads at that flop. If you're just going to call the 6th bet with AA or KK preflop, wouldn't check-raising a raggy flop be the more standard play. Looks more like big spades or 77 who leads out, wanting to get the 3rd bet in on the flop. I think calling and raising the turn is the best play, he'll 3-bet the turn with 77 and you can 4-bet, and if he doesn't 3-bet the turn, pray for a spade that pairs the board on the river.
