Legitimate Games?
For the last 5 days, I've been beaten on the river so many times that I'm begining to question the legitimacy of internet poker (esp. Paradise Poker).
It's amazing how many times my hands didn't hold up on the river. It seems that in real games, bad beats on the river are not as frequent as they are on the internet. I would appreciate your opinions on the legitimacy of internet poker (particularly paradise poker and party poker). |

Re: Legitimate Games?
The sites are as legitimate as anything.
Players at lowlimits online are more likely to call along, so you'll see more suckout losses. And you see more hands per hour, so you'll see more suckout losses. That's what you're noticing. |

Re: Legitimate Games?
agree- totally legit. You get sucked out a lot when 3 or 4 players are still playing on the turn. But when you win you win a lot more.
It's all good - just a bad run of cards. I lost 2 $78 hands in a row yesterday at 2/4 with a flush on the river and a better boat beatig my boat on the river. It just seems like they are all against you. IF yo REALLY want to feel cheated try BlackJack! LOL |

Re: Legitimate Games?
IT IS TIME YOU STARTED PLAYING LIVE TO ENJOY YOURSELF...BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE ONLLINE IS FIXED. JUST START PLAYING BETTER HANDS, AND BE AGRESSIVE WHEN YOU GET A GOOD ONE. THAT WILL MAKE UP FOR AL THE SO-CALLED BAD BEATS. LJH

Re: Legitimate Games?
Bet those high pairs and then bet again! Raising and re-raising pre and post flop is the best way to protect your pairs. and other hands that dont want alot of people in the hand.
Took me awhile, and many river suckouts till I really bought into this. I kept thinking I have AA, I want to win money from everyone....so I'd slow play em and lose. Anymore I'm just as happy if everyone folds! Money in the hand...... Read my posts and you'll see I was feeling just like you a couple of weeks ago till the good folks here showed me how poorly I was playing.... Nah, its not rigged |

Re: Legitimate Games?
These sites rake in HUGE money whether YOU win or lose. So, there is no compelling reason for the site to risk legitimacy by rigging it to hurt a player... even if you were busting other players left and right, there are so many players right now that no one (Party/Paradise administrators) would notice.

Re: Legitimate Games?
But I still have to wonder about folks sitting around in one room and sharing thier hands.
And it would be nice if our politicians would let us host these kind of sites here in the USA. Sincerely, AA |

Re: Legitimate Games?
Yeah, you REALLY have to wonder about internet collusion between 2 or more people. I mean its just so easy that it very well may explain why someone will raise preflop with J2o and flop top 2 pair and river a boat to beat your set. Maybe he was raising it preflop with that cause his buddy on the other end of his cell phone had poket aces, then the flop came J-2-7 and the rockets inconspicuously folded. Makes sense huh?
