Howdy,
If your winning just 1 big bet per hour, and you use 300 big bets to determine your playing limit, you should be able to move up after every 300 hours of play. If you play 40 hours a week, you should move up about every 2 months. Why is it then that many players are still playing at the lower limits? Is it because they find a level that they can no longer make a profit at? As a professional, does the cost of living keep you from moving up? Are there not enough high limit games available on-line? I ask as my meager $30 on-line buy in has developed into a still meager, but more respectable by comparison, four digit bankroll. The recent discussion on bankroll requirements for playing multiple tables got me to thinking that I would rather play one 15-30 game that I could really concentrate on, than six 2-4 games. Just wondering, currently I play for fun, so enjoy the game enough to sit and concentrate while not in the hand, Chucklehead |

I cant speak for anyone else but the reason why i still mostly play lower limits is because i am not comfortable losing 500-1000 in a session. I know i can beat much much higher games but why bother when the lower limit games are so profitable. Playing 3 tables at 2/4 is worth over $25 an hr for a good player...tax free. Also many find that playing 2 or 3 tables keeps them disciplined because there is not alot of down time. If there is a really juicey game at a higher stakes ill go for it... if not ill settle for three juicey ones. Regards Cubwins |

Like any other income, it's only tax free as long as you can hide it from the IRS. |

first, limits only go so high online. second, if you really think you can move up from 2/4 to 100/200 and still win at the same rate, you are one hell of a lot better player than i am. the bottom line is that the money in the game has to come from somewhere and the 100/200 game just doesn't have many fish willing to lose $1k/hour.

There's quite a few fish on intercasino that lose alot of money on the 50/100 and 100/200. But that game is still different than your average party 2/4 game.

One thing that has kept me personally from moving up is because of cashing out.. I've been paying off loans with my winnings, but keep a large enough bankroll to play in the 2-4 to 5-10 range.. I'm happy taking the time to master these games and have something to show for it..
