Default 9 bracelets

Not for nothing, cause I really don't care much, but counting someones bracelets is like comparing how many lifetime hole-in-ones they have. If I play golf more than you, I'm going to make a one WAY more often.

I have no idea why PH is so fixated on how many WSOP titles he has. The fact that he plays almost every event I guess is lost on him. I would like to think that If I, or any one of us here, played every event that we would have some number of championships close to PH's. Maybe more, maybe less.

Now, wins/# of events played lifetime is a much better stat.

Well, lets say for sake of argument that they play 200 WSOP tournaments in 10 years. This is a very small sample statistically, where even the best player could win zero over such a short period.

If this is true doesn't it make PH accomplishment that much more impressive?

Put the style aside, I wish I made as much as Helmuth does playing tournaments. Because people don't like his style that means he must suck and whenever he wins something it's a fluke.

When I bring my possum into the room I get this. People think I'm a fool because of my critters. But the problem I have that Helmuth don't is that when people peg my as a goof they are right.

but the best tournament players will win more.

I think the one thing you're missing as well is that in those WSOP events the best players at the time in the world are playing. Sure anyone can play and often just anyone wins but in each of those fields anyone did it against the best players there are at the time in that game.

Winning 9 bracelets may not mean you're the best poker player in the world but it means something. I mean Larry Brown was the MVP of the Super Bowl and Chris Moneymaker is the reigning Champion of Poker. Neither one of them did it 9 times.

Phil H is an ass and he is one of those guys that you look at and wonder why he deserves what he has...bottom line... he earned it.....

you put 1000 pros in a basket...someone has to get lucky and win bunch. Just like some pros have way more hole in one's than others even though they hit about the same number of greens and have played the same number of holes.

I'm no Hellmuth fan, but...

wouldn't YOU?

I'd be damned proud if I had 9 bracelets. If anyone wanted to try to invalidate the accomplishment, I'd tell them that they were entitled to their opinion but that NANANANANA, I'VE GOT NINE BRACELETS AND YOU'VE GOT NONE!!! NANANANANNA!!

Then I'd run across the room and hug my mom.

What's wrong with pride in accomplishment?

To quote Dizzy Dean - "It ain't braggin' if you can do it."

Umm, I was joking.

Which is not to say that I do not find his accomplishments admirable.

I'll be careful not to use obvious jokes in the future without brackets or colored lettering or something.
