Default Your favourite book?

I am very interested in poker books and my favourite book is so far "Poker, Gaming and life" by Sklansky. I like it beacuse you start to think poker.

Whats your favourite book and why?

sadly, i'd have to say hellmuth. the educational value is negligible, but the learned player gets more laughs out of reading it than any other poker book i've ever seen.

for books with educational value, i have to vote for TOP, as i'm a sucker for the true classics.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is my favorite book. It makes me laugh out loud every time I read it.

I also like The Future and its Enemies by Virginia Postrel.

I found Positively Fifth Street very, very hard to put down. I can't think of another book, poker or otherwise, that I can really say that about.

Poker - "Zen and the Art of Poker" by Lawrence Phillips

Novel - "Shogun" by James Clavell

Philosophy - "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand

Economics - "Capitalism and Freedom" by Milton Friedman

Other - "The Age of Spiritual Machines" by Ray Kurzweil

There. That should cover just about anything.

Default Long lost twin?

Whoa. Really odd, we have the same choices for 3.

Econ, Poker and Philsophy.

I guess I should read "Shogun" and "The Age of Spiritual Machines", now.

However, Richard Bach's "Illusions" is right up there in my Philosophy category.

Peace,
Joe

Even though Rand herself might look askance at supporting one's self through playing poker, and despite the fact that I disagree with her categorization of libertarians as "hippies of the right," I still find myself in agreement with most aspects of Objectivist philosophy.
