Re: party 2-4, did i chicken out, are these missed bets??
i consider myself to be beginner to intermediate level so my opinion should not be valued nearly as much as many on 2+2....but for what it's worth....
i would have raised here. you make no mention of whether you considered the table or the other player in question to be loose, intelligent, whatever. so lets assume you had just joined the table and that it's a typical 2-4 party game.....based on this alone you should just jam jam jam whenever you suspect you have the best hand. since he wasnt raising earlier i would guess that he didnt have the straight....not to mention that he called your pre-flop raise...but who knows, at party that could still mean he was holding 78 or even 37 or 23 for all we know....but again, since he didnt raise at either the flop or turn then it doesnt seem to be of likely concern. he probably figured his top pair had a chance since the rest of the board was low cards. he may have thought you were betting with just high cards and taking advantage of position. since you were the raiser, your bet on a flop like that could just as easily be JJ or AQ or 10J or anything since it was checked around to you. ....and remember, there's lots of bluffing and semi-bluffing going on heads-up at the river. with that being the case, you need to raise when your hand is likely the best. unless you determine a specific player to be strong, just play automatic and bet out on your good hands and hope everyone calls along with you. if anyone disagrees with this advice then feel free to fire away. i'm still getting my feet wet with all this stuff. |

It helps if you don't mention you read the IG forum, they never take you seriously after that. MS Sunshine |
