Terrible set play
Unless I missed something and did in fact play it like a genius. I vote donk play.
Pot limit $25 10-handed. One orbit completed and villian has a green light next to his name, which means donkey. he's $25, I have $25 One limper, villian raises to $1.50, I call with 66 and it's heads up into the flop. Flop comes down 864 rainbow with $3.50 in the pot and villian bets $2, I miniraise him for the hell of it and he calls. Turn is a Q, suit not important. Villian checks, I check. River ($11.50)is a 2, villian checks, I bet $10 and he calls. Is this a nice way of mixing up one's play with a set? My usual plan is to throw lots of chips in the middle and pray for callers. |

Re: Terrible set play
checking on the turn was rather lame.
2/3 pot it. 2/3 pot or more the river. |

Re: Terrible set play
$10 on the turn and the rest of your stack on the river. As soon as you hit the 6 on the flop your first thought should be how do I get it all in the middle.

Is this a nice way of mixing up one's play with a set? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe at NL against certain villians. Maybe. You just don't get sets that often, and when you do flop one, you usually win the pot. Sets are a huge moneymaker, and the only way to make money is throw it in the middle and hope people call. Also, this is PL. You got to build the pot here. |
