Calling LAA raise with KQs
Very aggressive loose player seen him raise with JTo, 88, and 44 OOP.
He had been pushing the table around for some time, and the table was playing loose. When I called I thought I would get a call or two behind me. First off is this a bad pre flop call? Ultimate Bet 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+2 raises, 2 folds, Hero calls, 4 folds. Flop: (5.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 raises, Hero calls. He check raises me... not good, but I've noticed he does that a lot made hand or not. I still think I have the best hand. Bad call or not? Turn: (4.75 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG+2 bets, Hero ? Bets into me as I "fish" out two pair. Back down, fire again or call? |

Re: Calling LAA raise with KQs
first up i like preflop, closer to the button you could try a 3bet to isolate, but on a loose table i think you will get more value from going for overccs.
his hand range on the flop makes what looks like a tricky decision very easy in my opinion KK (1 combo) TT (3 combo) AK (8 combo) AA (6 combo) KQ (6 combo) Then discounted (less likely to be played this way) QQ (1 combo) JJ (2 combo) JQ (8 combo) if you can put him a majority of the time on these hands, then you are either ahead of or chopping on the turn with 30/35 hands. raise the turn, if he 3bets then consider slowing down and just calling the river ui. |

Re: Calling LAA raise with KQs
3-bet the flop.
(sometimes i'll cold call preflop but when i know he's a dumb lag i'll 3-bet preflop) as you played the flop i definitely raise the turn. |

Re: Calling LAA raise with KQs
I 3 bet this preflop, you have position, and a hand that is way ahead of his range. If the flop happens as it did, raise here.

Re: Calling LAA raise with KQs
I really do not enjoy cold calling raises, I'd prefer to put my money to work here and three bet this player preflop. This type of isolation play works well with my style, I play tighter than a lot of players (15/8/2). I'll three bet with a lot hands including mpp and some stronger aces.
I also like a three bet on the flop. Turn and river are standard. |
