Two hands to discuss
Hand 1:
5/5 full table.Ive been very liberal with my pre flop raising standards, but haven't put any money in without having the goods. Villain in this hand is a good player, he could be a lot better but he calls too much on the river with marginal hands. He's been playing some what loose. We haven't tangled yet. He has $1700 I cover utg+2 limps, he limps in MP, I make it $40 co+1 with 99, utg+1 folds. Flop comes: 667 r He checks, I bet $75 he calls. Turn A two hearts He bets $200, I call. River A He bets $300, I make it $900. Hand 2: Did I chicken out here? $5/$10 6 handed. I have $1000, villain $1100. Villain is probably the only reason why I'm sitting down as most of the table has bought in short. I make it $45 with AQ0 in MP, button calls, bb calls. Flop: 9s 5s 3c bb checks, I bet $150, button folds, villain calls. Turn Kh I bet $300, he thinks for a long time and calls. River 2d He checks, I check behind. |

Re: Two hands to discuss
First hand I hate. What do you think he has that he c/calls flop and leads out an ace on the turn? Almost certainly some AK type hand. I generally don't believe that stop and gos are bluff moves,

Hand 1: I dont like, you can give up when he comes out betting on turn after stength you've shown.
Hand 2: I bet let on flop, then give it up. This isnt the hand where you want ot bang with this guy, and he's the type who'll still pay you off later even if you dont do stuff like this. |

Hand 1: I dont like, you can give up when he comes out betting on turn after stength you've shown. [/ QUOTE ] My flop bet was a simple continuation bet, from his point of view the ace would scare me just as much as it would scare him. Do people usually call a $75 bet on the flop with AK, or AQ OOP? It just seems if he had a big ace he'd lead out the flop or CR me. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think you assume people play as aggressively as you, which I can safely say isn't the case. You said the villian was a good player, so it's doubtful that he has an A. It's more likely he has an underfull or a pair higher than 99 by the river but you gave the appearance that you burned him by pulling a runner runner... Garland |

Re: Two hands to discuss
Well when he lead out on the turn I put him on a pp most likely higher then 99, but as played I think I sell AK,AQ,AJ quite convincingly don’t you agree?

Hand #1
Fold the turn. He calls your flop bet and leads into you on the turn? What do you put him on? River is somewhat inconsistent. If you put villian on crap on the turn, then you should just call and look him up. If you feel he already had something on the turn, you must fold the turn bet. The thing you're doing is representing the A and trying to get a better hand to fold. I don't know if villian is capable of making this laydown, but if he is good job, I guess. Hand #2 I would check behind on the turn. He calls a big bet on the turn. What in the world does a 2 do in his mind? I would just give up on the river if the bluff failed on the turn. On a side note, I hope you're playing all your monsters hard otherwise you're definitely leaking money. It seems you're going to get more action than the normal players due to your loose aggressive nature. Garland |

Re: Two hands to discuss
Are you sure you didn't have AQ in hand 1 and 99 in hand 2?
