Default The board is the nuts...do you raise?

I was recently playing a hand at the 3/6 level where the final board cards were quads with an ace. I had been betting most of the way. There are 3 people remaining after the river and I am first to act. I bet, next guy calls, last guy raises. The question is: do I 3 bet it? On the one hand, there is a VERY small change that the guy in between might fold becuase he might not realize that everyone must play the board and the pot will be split and thus he'll fold. On the other hand, he'll likely call and everyone, including me, loses money on the extra rake paid. What do you think?

Note: This is ONLINE and NOT live.

If this is online, the rake is probably capped already. Raise.

Well my point is that in this case, it was not capped. I BELIEVE it was at either $1.50 or $2 and 3 betting it would obvioulsy cap it at $3 so everyone loses about 50 cents. I'm not overly concerned about the 50 cents but just about the principle. Thanks.

Game preservation. If he's not going to fold, then I don't think you want to upset everyone at the table. Unless of course you think it'll put them on tilt...

Note. This was intended for live play. Online, bet the hell out of it. Let your opponents think your dumb, esp if you have a showdownable hand that they might mistake for you thinking was good.

I get every bet in....It's amazing how often someone will fold, even with 1 bet already in on the river. Nothing to lose; plenty to gain. Imagine the coup of draggin 1/2 the pot instead of 1/3. I'm sure that is worth about 2-3BB. Loss of $0.50 in additional rake vs. the chance at $12+ more. Seems to me if you succeed 1 time in 20, it's a sweet move.

if the rake is capped, raise, if not dont, ive seen people fold is spots like this, but i dont think it happens often enough to justify the increase in rake, also if you are up against competetant opponents, it may not be worth the time it takes up just to try and get them to misclick

do you have a K? because quads with a K is the nuts. poker being all a game with 5 card hands and all. and all.

I think you misread his post. I think the quads weren't A's, they were something else with an A on the board. So the board was already the nuts, and no one's hand could be better than what's already shown. Having a K means nothing.
