Villian is a solid tag, on one or 2 of my other tables. Stats something like 28/17/2.2/39 over 1k. He probably knows my stats are similiar.
I can't figure out how often he has overs after he 3 bets the flop. I never make this 3 bet with overs or a mid pair I'll lay down but it seems like I see others do it a lot. I think I shoulda c/c the turn in hindsight. Besides this specific hand, how often do you get out of line in marginal situations HU, especially against 2ers you know you'll see again? Do you think it has good or bad shania? When he 3-bets the flop I don't think you have enough fold equity for the turn semibluff to become effective. Someone like this won't have overs that often and even when he does your fold equity isn't enourmous making a river follow up necessary(?) most of the time, so it is an expensive move.
With less flop action it becomes a lot closer IMO but probably not close enough as he doesn't seem sufficiently weak tight. |

I think this is a pretty poor time to semibluff checkraise the turn.
Although it might be better if you left out the action after your turn checkraise. Maybe the responses (including mine?) are biased because you got threebet instead of inducing a fold. |

People do realize that he picked up a double gutter right? This means he has 8 outs to all overpairs, and 11 outs to many. I think we get him to fold overcards often enough, and I think we get him to fold overpairs occasionally. I like .

Thanks for the replies, I agree that he doesnt fold enough for this to be worth it. But this is really the question I want answered:

I really don't think this is the hand that you should have posted discussing marginal semibluffs. I very very infrequently see overcards bet the turn after 3-betting the flop in your situation. I'd much rather like a turn donk if you really think he's on overs, so your checkraise plan seems pretty unwarranted. This is the type of crap I pull when I'm playing like dogshit. Playing 2+2ers where you both know each other, I really really limit myself on semibluffs. You know they can semibluff and will test you a lot, and vice versa.
