Another overbet push
Is there a better play than pushing here?
The problem is, if I don't push, I don't know how to play the turn. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx MP ($829) CO ($998) Button ($3745.75) SB ($1201) BB ($1000) Hero ($1403) Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $5. Hero raises to $20, MP calls $20, 2 folds, SB (poster) calls $15, 1 fold. Flop: ($70) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets $30 , MP folds, SB raises to $60, Hero pushes |

Re: Another overbet push
We really gotta get you off the minraise mindset. I don't see how you can put 1.3k into a $60 pot with a pair plus flush draw. But not value bet an overpair on the river against a worst hand, or steal from someone who checks to you after they continuation bet and chek turn. WTF?

Re: Another overbet push
I think a push with 8 9 here would be good. But since there's like no money in the pot I say build it up. If you 3bet to like $250 and hit a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the turn then the action won't freeze up since he won't necessarily put you on the draw.

"3bet to like $250"
If sb calls the raise, a blank comes, and he checks the turn, are you taking the free river? If a diamond river hits how much are you betting? |

Re: Another overbet push
I explained it once, and was subjected to lots of abuse, but no one was willing to engage me in serious conversation about my reasoning. That being the case, I don't see much use in explaining it anymore.
However, I'm delighted to talk with y'all about the rest of my game. It's been quite helpful. |
