Your gutshot's an 11:1. When SB leads you're only getting 3:1 for your call. If you wanna battle for 2SB's, raise the flop, take control of the hand and go for a free card. Villain might even fold to your raise.

I fold the flop here since there are too many overcards which could cripple you for such a small pot.

Turn brings the miracle card for you. Villain could just as easily be getting aggressive with Qh9h or Ax. Raise the gutshot miracle, it's why you're still in there.

This wasnt a gutshot, it was open ended... the 6 or the 2 made me a straight...

So you were getting 5:1 to improve on the turn with the pot giving 3:1... or did you think your (timid) call would get a free card???

With the implied odds of me hitting, I was fairly sure he had the Ace so i figured I could get it to showdown if I hit it. If I did not improve on the turn it was a definate muck...

For an EV of +.5BB right? Not bad, I stand corrected. Raising the turn increases probably increases your EV if he has an Ace.

Do you not think we'll make up the 2SB on the turn if we hit?

I actually was thinking about that and I'm not sure. Just seems to me that in these spots (and I don't spend a lot of time as SB vs. BB is pretty rare at a full game at these limits) players will try to c/r their good hands but bet with weak hands a lot. So when we raise the turn I think we are folding out SB a lot of the time. Don't know if that makes sense, just a thought.

You had 8 outs with 3:1 pot odds and two cards to come. Implied odds assuming you make the straight (as you did) make the call ok...semi-loose in my mind. Did you think about raising on the flop as a possible free card play if you missed the turn?
