MTT Donkapalooza...advice, please?
I apologize that this post is of little to no content, but I felt I needed to vent just a litle bit. Also some advice would be great.
It seems that donks have been especialy prevelent today. I have played in 4 tournaments today and have been donked out of all them by the most absurd calls. (1 NL, 3 Limit) eg: Called reraise with K4s(EP) early on to bust my AA with two pair Called a 6BB raise with K4s to pull out a flush Called raise (EP) with 37s to bust my AKs supposed nut flush with full house This list goes on and on and on today. My question is, how do you best cope with donk's in the early stages of a tournament? Must you play very tight, only playing the premium hands and wait till at least after the first break to loosen up? Sometimes it just seems as though no matter how perfectly you try to play there is always a plethra of donks out there ready to play anything. Is there any good way to combat the sheer numbers of them that there are there? My common sense tells me that this is unavoidable and that the only true answer is to keep playing on, as many as possible, and in time it will all pay off. Sorry if this has been absolute nonsense, but my ego is quite damaged today. |
