Default hows my line

I am in the BB, pretty tight, passive table. bunch of regs at the taj 15/30.

I am BB with 9c8c

2 Limpers, CO raises folded to me in the BB, I call, limpers call

Flop: Qc 6c 4c

I bet, UTG calls, 1 fold, PFR raises, I three-bet, UTG calls two cold, PFR calls

Turn: Qh

I check, UTG checks, PFR bets, I raise, UTG calls, PFR calls

River: brick

I bet, UTG folds, PFR calls

the turn check raise makes no sense to me. are you trying to knock out the cold caller for some reason?

If he has any club over a 9, yes.

Of course I am, I figured the PFR to have AQ with no club and UTG to probably have the Ac. I did not want him to see the river

With a draw to the nut flush, he IS going to see the river in a pot this big, no matter what you do. You do NOT want to risk giving any free cards here. I'm all for betting out on the turn.

You might get him to fold a 10c or Jc with the checkraise though.

pretty tight, passive table.

Given this description your turn check doesn't make any sense at all. I might buy it if the PFR was an aggressive player...but against a passive table you end up giving away a free card way too often.

One risk you're taking on the turn (I think) is that if the PFR has AA/KK instead of AQ, then the chances that he'll check the turn through go up.

That said, if he does have AQ, it's possible he'll bet if checked to but only call if you lead.
