Default Get Me Out Of this.....

PokerStars 2.00/4.00 Hold'em (6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button folds, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (10.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 18.75 BB

Villian is a 64/5, and it seemed like he had made acesup on the turn, the river seemed the perfect card to get my money in on.

Raising the turn and capping the river too aggro?

Looks like UTG flopped or turned a set. Aces up is possible, but I don't think I can cap this river.

Edit: Or he gutshot you on the turn.

just call the river 3-bet unless this guy is unusually aggressive

if hes very passive, i just call the turn, it really depends on a postflop read and his AF, but i think against most players a raise is right

Totally depends on the read but at PS 2/4 a 3-bet heads up on the river against a preflop raiser on this board very nearly always screams more than two pair.

yeah i've been thinking how bad this hand actually is, i just managed to get my mind set on him limping with Ax etc... i think that i should just call down the turn and raise and call the inevitable 3-bet on the river.

I'd have a hard time just calling the turn bet and I think the raise is good. However, after calling a turn 3-bet and being bet into again on the K river, it might be best to call and hope he was over-playing a lower 2-pair. However, it looks like a set, or as borodog said, he hit you with a gutshot on the turn...either way, the river didn't scare him and he's not slowing down.

With all that said, if I were playing this hand I might have put 1BB less in the pot. It's tough to slow down on these hands, especially hitting an out on the river.

So, you think we're ahead most of the time when he donks the turn?

I agree, it sure doesn't seem like it but with TPTK on this board I might raise. It's probably wrong, and looking at the hand I don't like it either. But, it's tough to know whether I don't like it b/c of the 3-bet and/or the K on the river which would justify a raise after calling the turn. I guess I'm struggling with analyzing the hand where it looks like a turn call, river raise/call 3-bet line looks optimal vs. actually playing the hand out.

If Hero stopped the hand after his turn raise and said "ok?" would you still have said to call not knowing the 3-bet was to follow?
