5/10 deep (is 200BBs deep?) Flop a flush, turn into a wuss
5/10 NL 6-max.
Interesting table. There are about 4 stacks of 2k+ on the table right now, making the play very interesting. Ive got notes on the main villain that he is a bit of a caller, and I got a big chunk of my stack from him earlier when I had a full house, and we got all-in when he had 66 on an 8854 board. 854 to start ,then 8 on turn. Anyhoo - onwards to the fun. Hero is SB (2500) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain 1 is BB (2000) Villain 2 is UTG (2500) Preflop Villain limps, folded to hero, who completes, BB checks. Flop (30) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets 15, BB calls, villain makes it 50, hero calls, BB calls. Turn (180) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero leads for 140, BB folds, villain calls River (460) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hero checks, villain bets 250, hero calls. Flame away. EDIT - I should also have said that I've seen villain call bets until the river and then raise, with a big hand. |

No value bet? Don't you see villian checking behind sometimes?

I don't like the river check, especially when the villain is a "bit of a caller". After he called the turn, I think he pays off on the river with a lot of hands but you may not be able to count on him to bet his ATo or busted spade draw.

I think you have to bet pot on the river. Ax (x being a spade) will probably look you up and so will a set (which may or may not value bet the river).
If you get raised, you can drop it since there are almost no flushes you beat by an UTG limper. I admit, this scenario sucks but overall I think you lose too much value not betting the river. |

People have commented on the river, but does anyone re-raise back on the flop? Make him pay more if he is raising with the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?

Re: 5/10 deep (is 200BBs deep?) Flop a flush, turn into a wuss
I think you played the flop and turn great. No need to 3 bet the flop and let a worse hand get off too easy, or prevent any ability for you to get off easy if he flopped the nuts. You can't check the turn though and give him a free card so you donk bet it. Best line.
River is a pot sized value bet. |

oh my dear god I call the flop and check-raise the turn, pot the river. If he pushes I call. How did you not get more money in here? (you asked to flame away)

Anyone consider sticking it all in here. I know the villain and he was running really good and playing lots of hands including any two suited and he had a calling problem. I don't think he folds a smaller flush here ever or a set. You got a donk and the third nuts. I make this pot big.

Were you playing J9s for its straight-flush possibility? Stick it in.
