Live 4/8 Hand, A J in big pot
Hey all, just curious to know what your decision on the turn would be...
Preflop UTG limps, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 limps, i raise with AJ off, MP2 folds, MP3 3 bets, folds to UTG who calls, UTG+2 calls and i call. 6.25 BB Reads: UTG is quite loose, could be playing any to suited or connecting cards, isn't very aggressive. UTG+2 no reads, and MP3 seems to be a fairly solid player. I figure he has a big pocket pair or AK. Flop Jd Jh Qh Action is checked to me, I check with the intention of check raising MP3, however he checks behind. Turn 3h UTG bets, UTG+2 raises, hero... |

Bet the flop - IMO, it's a big mistake not to. The whole hand plays differently after that.

If we are confident MP3 will bet behind us, a check-raise is great for value purposes here, as we can trap several players for multiple bets. I probably check-raise here reasonably often. Betting is good too. It's pretty read/table dependent. |

I don't mind going for the c/r on the flop, but leading might be better as most of these guys behind you will call two cold with many of the hands they will call one bet with and it will also give you a chance to 3-bet.
Do you have the Ah? If so 3-bet that [censored] on the turn, otherwise, 3-bet [censored] on the turn. |

(Edited- misread original post)
I would 3 bet the turn and if it gets capped call down unless there is a ton of action on the river as well. |

You took the lead preflop. Maintain the lead and bet the flop. Leading out on the flop is more deceptive than check raising and is likely to get you more value on your hand. I would 3 bet the turn and if it gets capped call down unless there is a ton of action on the river as well. [/ QUOTE ] He doesn't have the lead preflop as it was 3-bet behind him. |

Re: Live 4/8 Hand, A J in big pot
Alright... I wound up just calling the turn raise, as i did not have the ace of hearts and thought the turn raiser could have a flush. MP3 now 3-bets the turn, UTG calls and UTG+2 caps. Should I call 2 more bets here?

You have a ton of outs against everything except like QQ. |
