Re: Tuff AA hand
I'm assuming your friend is BB here. And since top 3 all get the same price i think he has to fold here.

Re: Tuff AA hand
So friend was UTG? I'd have just pushed with his AA in this position, why give the chance for someone to come over the top and be left with a tough decision?

Results later [/ QUOTE ] Did the Villain call before the all in? What are the blinds? I'm trying to figure out why in the heck anybody would make an all in move with those chip counts if top 3 get the same prize. If the villain already called and blinds are at least 200, I'd say villain's going to have to call the all in if you fold. If your friend calls, villain could just fold hoping that the SB beats the friend, then friend is blinded out on the very next hand, squeaking him into 3rd. I say fold, but I would ask the SB what the heck he was doing after the game. The correct move in my mind is for the SB to raise to 400, friend calls, villain calls putting him all in. SB and friend check it down and hopefully the numbers take out villain. Stupid play by the SB IMO. I assume this is going to be a bad beat post, so tough luck for your friend, but I think calling the all-in is ill-advised. |

Re: Tuff AA hand
In a .5/.3/.2 payout you've gotta call this, I believe. In this one you have to fold. You gain very little (essentially eliminating him without having to worry about the t400 stack) while risking everything. It's a pretty dumb move for the SB, but I just don't see any benefit for the BB to call in this payout structure.
BB's ICM standing: .3099 BB's ICM standing if call and win: .3322 BB's ICM standing if call and lose: 0 .3322x + 0(1-x) = .3099 x=.9329 Obviously he's not winning 93.3% of the time. Fold. -SonnyJay |

Re: Tuff AA hand
If top 3 pays the same, this is a retarded question.

Re: Tuff AA hand
So your friend was in the BB? then fold, its not worth it since t400 most likely be the busted one. If he was UTG, then push PF.

Can my friend call this with his AA. [/ QUOTE ] AA is 85% to win against two random cards. Is there a greater than 85% chance the shorty (who has less than 1.5 BB) busts before your friend? Hint: yes, so turbofold. No wonder satellites are so +EV. |
