3 AQ Decisions
Hand 1: I was trying to run over Button in this hand which went horribly awry. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what he could have that he was getting aggressive with. Only thing I could figure was a small set.
Maybe he figured me for overcards and put the pedal to the floor. He was a total donkey and previously raised me with only a gutshot on a flop of high cards and then raised me AGAIN on the turn when I had TPTK. His stats indicated he had a AF of about 2 Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 4 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, Button calls. Flop: (4.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls. Turn: (6.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls. River: (10.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero folds. Final Pot: 11.25 BB Hand 2: Villain is a TAG playing well. I was afraid of Q10 or QK. Should I have value bet this? I figured if I got called it would be only by a hand that beats me. Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, MP2 calls. Flop: (6 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB calls, MP2 folds. Turn: (4 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls. River: (8 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, BB checks. Final Pot: 8 BB Hand 3: SB was about 40/5/1. Flop was relatively ragged so I tried to steal. Turn bet is questionable. If I bet the turn I think I should have followed through on the river. Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 6 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls. Flop: (6 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, SB calls. River: (6.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: 6.50 BB |

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
hands 1 and 2 are bad.
in 1, why do people always try to bully lags? GET TO SHOWDOWN, don't "push them off hands." in 2, what are you scared of on the turn? "afraid of QT or KQ" ?? well what about QJ? AT? plus, you have KQ beat, my friend. raiseraiseraiseraiseraiseraiseraise |

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
QK has a boat...which I ain't got. I just thought this was an example of a hand where a bet was ill-advised because this particular player would raise if I was beat and fold if I was ahead so a bet gained nothing and lost another bet.

[/ QUOTE ] no. QK does not have a boat until the river. on the turn, you beat almost his entire hand range. if you choose to call because he can lay down AT/KT/JT to a turn 3-bet, then you should be leading the river. |

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
Hand 1 just seems like spew to me.
Hand 2 I would have 3-bet that flop, and called down afterwards You can't be afraid of QT, 44, and TT are the only hands ahead of here. And why on earth would you fear KQ on the turn? Hand 3 I don't have any problem with. |

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
I'm saying that a 3-bet was appropriate on the turn.

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
Hmm...in hand 2 its obvious I should have raised the turn. I'll have to check my HH again because I don't see why I wouldn't have raised that turn...

Re: 3 AQ Decisions
in any event...consider me as having raised the turn. Now do I value bet?
