Default Penalty for profanity but not for berating insults????

I'm watching the televised wsop main event tonight and see many guys being penalized for a profanity blurt. But yet they have no problem allowing incidents like the Hellmuth incident. Where the guy snaps him off on the river. He then proceeds to tell the guy how bad he sucks and goes on and on about it. Then Hellmuth getsa applause as he gets knocked out(he's lucky the guy he berated didn't pop him. He had big arms). He is a classless little child imo.

To me this is much worse conduct than someone blurting an accidental profanity.

Who thinks that they got the conduct penalties wrong?

If you look back on cardplayer.com at the WSOP videos there were several player interviews answering that same question. Most players interviewed didn't agree that dropping an f-bomb deserved a penalty, but rather verbally abusing a dealer or another player does deserve a penalty.

The only penalty should be for attempting to do anything physical... be it to the cards, the chair, the table, or any humans present.

Otherwise, just let it play out, it's poker. If some idiot wants to tilt, let it be, he'll just donk off his stack.

I don't think their should be a penalty for either. That's poker, it wouldn't be the same if people couldn't say "how the hell you do call with a KJ? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!? BLEEP you!" That is what makes poker so great.

This is what I don't get. Everyone inside a casino poker room is over 21. They are all adults and can handle hearing the f-word. So, to me it seems like they had the penalty so that when showing the tourniment on TV, little kids could watch it w/o hearing the f-word. Yet, ESPN shows when these players swear, they just bleep the word out. So why have the penalty?

I think it might be an attempt to make poker seem more a game of gentlemen (aka like golf) than a game of backroom hustlers.

Personally I'm with others in thinking that penalties should be given for attacks on dealers, equipment, and other players (physical attacks, throwing chairs, threatening motions) but not for merely swearing in frustration, or casual conversation, or asking how the player could play like such a donkey.
