Ignoring Calls
I've seen a few situations in sports recently in which a call was made that the oficials then ignored.
A few weeks ago, I saw a football game in which the wistle was blown, but the play continued. This is awful, because players stop playing when they hear the wistle. Just now, the umpire called the batter out, then allowed him to run to first. There is a good chance that if the ump hadn't called the batter out, that he would have been taged out, of that there would have been a throw to first. In situations like these, officials need to stick with their decisions regardless of weather or not they are right. |
