need quotation
Tomorrow I'm giving a talk for a research requirement in my grad program. I'm looking for OOT to give me a good quotation to say at the beginning or at least put on a slide.
My research is about the situation where a company or person only give out the positive information about their product and withhold negative information. Basically anything about covering up information and people being fooled by this would be good. Following the rules, here's a pic of Paz Vega: |

Or, you can look for something from ENRON, etc. |

Re: need quotation
No good deed goes unpunished.
Perhaps relatable to the idea that doing anything but glossing over or not mentioning negatives about a product will only result in loss of sales; consumers may say they want the truth, but they won't favor it with an increase in sales, so the truth is suicide for a company economically -- no good deed goes unpunished. |

Re: need quotation
'“Let’s level. We’re America!”
“We can’t level, you crazy bastard, we’re in advertising!”' -- The movie Crazy People There are a ton of 'true advertisements' in that movie. Slogans for Volvo like, "They're boxy, but they're good." That would be a good movie for you to watch-- it is a look at what would happen if the advertisments were true. I'm pretty sure there were some great ones with aspirin brands being absolutely no different from each other. You'd dig it. |

Re: need quotation
Listening to a company discuss their own product is like a bikini...it's suggestive, but doesn't really reveal anything.
