80-160 hand

Here's a hand I played yesterday at Bay 101. I had just been involved in a huge arguement with a player trying to pull an angle on me. I wouldn't stand for it, and made it known. It appears that I'm really hot, but I'm not.

The cutoff in this hand is an ex-poster and possible lurker. He knows who I am, but hasn't played much with me. He thinks I am a maniac at times. He open raises. I 3 bet with Ah7h.

He calls. Flop is Ac 2c 9s. He checks, I bet, he checkraises. I just call.

Turn is a 6h. He bets. I just call. I was going to raise a good river.

River is 6d. He bets, I just call. Comments?

Hi Sucker,

I would have played this one exactly the same. No point raising the river when your kicker goes limp. The only issue is, given your image, whether you might have gotten more action from a worse hand had you raised earlier. While that is possible, I would have elected to play it the same as you did.

His kicker was pretty flaccid from the get-go.

Would any of these cards make AJ or AT fold to a raise? Doubtful IMO.

Sucker, with the comment you made, I'm assuming you thought there was a significant chance CO had A3-A5, and the river counterfeited your kicker? Was he the type that would've capped AK-AJ preflop against you? If not, there's just too many aces out there that beat you the way it played out.

Would this guy pay off a river raise with 88 or TT? That's the only way I can see a raise being worth the risk.

Standard? What's a "good river" other than a 7? I don't see how a raise accomplishes much otherwise.

Edit - I see NLSoldier had the same thought I did...

I also don't understand why you would consider raising anywhere in this hand.

As for the hand, raising a baby, an A, or a 7 was a good play here, IMO. I'll get at it later.
