KK, top set and I\'m bet into by EP...wait for turn to raise?
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls. Flop: (10.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) BB bets, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero ??? Ok, I'm about to cream my pants because I'm bet into with this hand. But I got to thinking that waitin for a turn raise might be a good idea here. Anybody with a straight draw is coming regardless, no free card is being given, and I trap everyone on the turn with a raise if the BB bets again. Good or make them pay now? |

You have everyone trapped now, there is no guarantee that the ep bettor has the balls to bet into 5 people on the turn again.
Raise it up for value. |

Are you still going to raise on the turn of a 4, 6, 9, or a J comes down?
Raise that flop. You already have a huge pot, time to try and push out any gutshots (with hopefully an EP 3-bet). |

Re: KK, top set and I\'m bet into by EP...wait for turn to raise?
But that's kinda the reason I'm waiting for the turn. These guys are coming regardless, and I'm raising the turn no matter what here, yeah. Even if I end up "behind" I still got 10 outs and 4 players coming along more than likely.
*edit- If I raise now it dries up the turn action unless I'm beat yes? It's gonna be checked to me unless someone hits their straight yes? |

You have a huge equity edge here.
With a save card on the turn it will not become significantly bigger. Raise now. Raise for value. Read SSH "two overpair hands". |

Read SSH "two overpair hands". [/ QUOTE ] Not even close. Not even remotely close. |

True; just read "Two Overpair Hands" last night, and it deals with your hand's ability to withstand pressure, not when to raise a set.

[/ QUOTE ] I was not refering to the hand themselves, but to the "passing a small edge to exploit a bigger one on the turn"-thought. And I do think that this is "remotely" close. A save turncard won't make our edge much bigger and we have everyone trapped right NOW. This is not a SMALL edge on the flop. |

But I have more value waiting for the turn don't I? I'm getting value on a BB raise, not a SB raise aren't I?

[/ QUOTE ] If EP bets the turn AND several people call on the turn, then yes a turn raise will give you more value. But that is not super likely and you're giving up too much flop value to take that chance. |
