Dude, no one knows where Carson City is, lol. How many tourist types do you think will actually be there?

Re: Whiskeytown in Carson City/Reno - Oct 29th-Nov.1st
I"ve been out there a few times whiskey, and there isn't too much in Carson City. But I'll give you an overview of what I know from my family visits.
Probably the best carson city poker room is the CVI, Carson Valley Inn. Its a little ways away from CArson, about 15 minutes, and its closer to Gardenerville. The poker room there is pretty plain. A few TV's some free snacks, but from what I remember, it is run very smoothly. The biggest game you will likely find will be 4/8. And sometimes they have various low-limit tournies. There is also a place called Casino Fandango which kinda reminds me of a casino built inside a grocery store. Its right off the road near all the retail and commercial stores, it looks like a warehouse store, but inside its a casino floor (kinda strange.) Anywho, its not the best place to play in town. I've been there twice and it is nothing but 55+ aged rocks and a few LP's. Avoid this pokerroom if possible. I think your best bet is to take the quick drive up to Reno. The cardrooms there have a much better crowd, much more action, and fairly well run. I would suggest going to Reno for poker over going to Tahoe, but Tahoe is much prettier. As for other nightlife in carson city, find a sports bar called Bully's, its a fun place to have a few drinks and watch a game. |

I played at Fandangos when I went out to visit a friend. I didn't think it was to much of a rock fest. What I remember was the sucky as dealers. I have never seen such slow dealers. Now I have only been there twice but that is what sticks in my head. I will be moving there soon so I will try them again when I am more alert.
