UTG is a relatively decent player from what little I've seen (though he looks like a calling station in this PF and flop action) and I wanted to protect my hand against him, hence the flop c/r. Button was an aggressive player, but not retarded.
Did I slow down at the right or wrong time? Something about hands like these kind of bugs me. Your hand is essentially transparent. You got capped preflop yet you capped the flop 3-bet and he still raised the turn. The other AA is very unlikely, and he wouldn't raise you on the turn once you showed that much flop strength.

As I said, my read on Button was that he was a pretty aggressive player. I thought there was a decent chance he was on AK here, and I had outs against a possible but unlikely KT. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not really advocating any specific action here, he is aggressive. I just think all options lead directly to suck, and it pisses me off having to call down in positions like this even though it's supposed to be the right play. |

[/ QUOTE ] That's a reasonable opinion, but I don't think we are too far away from 1/8 odds against an aggressive player. They do suprise you sometimes and flip over AK. Also, our calling down odds may be better than we think, because of those times he raises the turn but checks through the river. As I have stated before, when it is close between folding/calling down, I prefer calling down because A) It's better for meta-game purposes B) I sleep better. On the other hand, I could just be making excuses for playing like a calling station |
