JJ vs aggression in 3/6
I've been playing a little 3/6, trying to find my way. This hand came up tonight and I started to feel like I am getting a feel for the aggression.
Villan in this hand was pretty loose aggressive 35/29/6 Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises, MP2 3-bets, 5 folds, Hero calls. Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
I cap preflop, bet every street and then call his raise after he rivers me with runner runner. Given that you only called his 3 bet and the aggressiveness of this player your line works just as well.

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
Against someone this aggressive I am capping preflop, and bet-3betting this flop, and leading the turn whether he caps the flop or not. He raises the turn I go into call down mode.

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
Cap preflop. The way you played I just check raise the flop. How many hands you have on him? I might 3 bet the river if he'll payoff or bluff cap. Would he 3 bet A9 PF in this situation or just A9s?

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
Assuming your read is based on more than a handful of hands, against that opponent, I am:
-Capping preflop. -Bet/3-betting the flop. -Bet/calling the turn. -Bet/calling the river. Against a more reasonable opponent, I would normally check/raise the flop, but there's nothing wrong with taking a check/call, check/raise line from time to time. But if he's reasonable, I'm 3-betting the river. |

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
My read was only 50 hands or so (sorry, I should have mentioned), so these stats could calm down a little over some more.

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
is 3-betting this river spewing? i really can't see a 9 very often here.

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
It is hard to put him on a 9 with the pre-flop/flop action. Still, after he calls you on the turn and then springs into action on the river it's a lot more likely he's gone runner-runner. I'd just call this I think. If you 3-bet the river and get capped you're one unhappy chappy.

Re: JJ vs aggression in 3/6
This is a spot where I'd think that 3-betting would be sexy, but I'd end up wimping out.
